Remote central locking

Hi all.
Got a problem with the central locking. Stopped working yesterday and was left out in the rain. :headbang:
Managed to get in after half an hour. Came home and it started working again. Spare key also working. Then this morning one key stopped working.
I attempted the reprograming http://www.programeyourkeys.com/bmw_z4. I did option 3. Now i have 1 key which works and one that does not. No matter which option i do i only get one key to work, it can be the old key or the new key. I have searched this forum and the only thing i see is to do the option 3 reprogram bit it does not work for me. I have done it about ten times now.
My question is this. How can i get both keys to operate the central locking? Any ideas?

Why didn't you just use the key in the door to get in?

Is method 2 not working at all?

Key still works in the door for future reference.

You might have to take both keys and the car into the dealer or an independent with coding capabilities to get them both working properly.

Think its a dealer job. Key won't work in lock. Don't think i have ever used the lock and now its seized. :headbang:

Hi again.
Went to an indipendant BMW specialist this morning to get my keys reprogrammed, they told me that only a main dealer can do this because of security issues. Is this correct? i dont think so.

Might be. One of my keys wasn't working as I wanted when I picked my car up (new). I had to provide a photocopy of the purchase agreement and a photocopy of my driver's license so the service department could order one from BMW.

Quick note to all.
Start lubricating your locks.
Mine is jammed solid even aftes 3 days spraying with WD40.

Syncing your keys and central locking system is a dealer only thing. Had mine done... 6 months later, only one key working again.. wondering if it is the battery in the key that is dead... sigh

The keys have a rechargeable battery in them. They get charged when they are in the ignition. Its not the battery thats the problem.
