Remote boot lid release driving me crazy!

Is there any way of deactivating the function to open the boot lid off the key as mine keeps opening without warning. I think the button gets pressed accidentally when I'm holding the keys or when I put them in my pocket!!
 
This is an option when coding via SSS I think. You might be able to find someone in your local area to change it for you, otherwise its a garage job.
 
May help - On my old 3.0 it was a press of the remote button but on my M I have to hold it down for a while. Not sure if this is just a programmable thing you can have changed?
 
I had this very same problem, but after my key/s became un-synced with the car. I have no idea how it happened but it did.

One key would unlock but not start the car and the other would start but not unlock. During the same time period the boot was opening at random times, including mid journey causing a wet boot floor. I was finding the boot open 3-4 times a day.

I found a post on here detailing (very simple) how to re-programme the keys to the car, which I did and now all is well and the boot no longer opens other than when I want it to.

Might be worth a search.
 
Thanks everyone. I'll have a look through some old posts :thumbsup: glad it's not just me!! You start to get a bit paranoid a check it several times a day :cry:

That doesn't change the way the key works, only syncs to the car.

Steve (quoted), made it so that I have to unlock the car first before I can pop the boot as I was having exactly the same problem! It's worked a treat :)

i have most problem with the releas button down with the pedal;s with getting out of the car i hit that switch quite often. :oops:
