Hi All

Just got a ‘15 E89 20i and want to get it remapped. I’m sure its been asked a thousand times, who are the best people to go to, Celtic, Evolve, Quantom or others. Want a really good job done, not wanting to go cheap and possibly get crap job,
Who to avoid as well guys, looking forward to your suggestions please

Where are you based?

If you want a good job doing, make sure you have it dyno’ d before and after..

Fresh plugs, maybe coils, new air filter and a couple of tanks of 99 Ron fuel are good prerequisites

If you’re West Midlands based Will at Performance Torque knows the N20 really well and did a great job on my car.

I had my 35i done by celtic originally - the result was excellent but very agressive.
They took a long time as they repeatedly tweak the map on the dyno in their Cornwall facility - you can watch the whole process via CCTV.
I have since replaced that map with the MHD map. MHD is without any doubt more powerful and better balanced, combined with the XHP DCT mpas its sensational to be honest.

MHD and xHP not available for N20 / ZF8HP E89s....

I went to a chap with a rolling road in Lowestoft. He gave me before and after readings. Started with a generic map which he admitted was basically a Celtic one, then tweaked it to suit my car. More than happy with that.

That is a shame - maybe in the future..

Did your celtic map get done 'at home' or in their facility?

I have used Celtic a few times ...all be it on diesels....their most powerfull map can be aggressive as others have said , however their service is excellent...had them done on the rolling road at Newquay , Cornwall. They do now offer a unit you can use at home to upload new maps .
Im not mapping my 3.0 e85 as gains are too small on a non turbo engine

Sadly no..combination of difficult to access technological issues and market size not meriting their attention…in the end part of the reason as a ‘twiddled’ to embrace the N54 and DCT..lots of support in contrast..

No, I went to the rolling road at Lowestoft. He then started with what was basically the same as a Celtic map.

Yeah they are all one basic map but individual tuners do tweak them... I would recommend Celtic to anyone

What is meant by "aggressive"?

Been thinking of a Celtic remap for a long time - even started threads on here, and i'm finally in a position that I can afford the £300 Celtic quoted me a year or 2 ago (assuming its not gone up too much).

Live in Devon, so trip to Newquay is reasonable, do they do anything when on the rolling road different to the mobile techs, other than a before/after diagram to show improvements? ie do they tweak it?

(kind of thread hijack, but still relevant to the op).
