Its also about delivery of those parameters.
My 23i was mapped by Celtic, little gain in the figures but the power delivery was changed drastically and the drive was a lot lot better.
Might have but it was around 4 1/2 years ago. More than likely passed them to the new owner with all the rest of the bits n bobs.Smartbear said:mcbutler said:Its not all about BHP/Torque when you map a car.

Did you keep the dyno results so we can see the differences? :?

Did you get a dyno reading done Jennifer?jenniferlouise said:I had a modest Quantum remap added to my 23i, and similar to other comments here, whilst it doesn’t transform the car, having 220hp gives a smoother pull and possibly a little more responsive, but it will quickly feel normal I guess. Considering JL is running a 300ps Mini JCW I had to fettle the Z4 a little bit! And the straight six is still a great old-skool engine IMO

1) remap - 16-25 bhp
2) 3 stage intake manifold with dual DISA valves (as in the 3L E89)
3) new exhaust system - a la Eissenmann, Remus, SuperSprint etc
Those last two are rather expensive compared to #1.
The most benefit though would be with #2 above.

I always thought the e89 23i had the 3 stage manifold and it was only the pre facelift 2.5i (iv been considering doing the swap on mine) that had the single DISA? But on paper yes the manifold swap would yield the most power![]()

The 23i has got the dual disa manifold.

Hmm, yes. It does seem that the 23i has the dual DISA system.
But there is a difference in the manifolds according to the part numbers:
23i - https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/intake-manifold/mpn/11617559525
30i - https://www.lllparts.co.uk/product/intake-manifold/mpn/11617559523
Then there is this article which i guess is a bit confusing as it talks about the N52B25 from previous generations as well.

The uk 23i already has the full power manifold with twin disa, the tuning link you posted isn’t really relevant as it’s an American site & they had different models to us in the uk including a lower powered n52 with a different manifold.
Our 23i doesn’t use one of those.
