Just wondering if anyone has remapped there 2004 3ltr Z? if so who did it and was it worth it? are the power gains noticeable and does mpg drop?

cheers.

Some will claim 30-50bhp gains....

However, this has been discussed in great detail, and in reality you may smooth the torque curve and loose flat spots, but not get much more than a 3-5bhp gain

I could be wrong though....

I think 20bhp to 251bhp is the widely accepted figure for a remap, with most companies not claiming above or below this figure

I remember reading a post and the chap said its like when the car is in sport mode all the time then you hit sports button and its extra again.... if that makes sense :? for driving experience, in his view he felt it was worth it but good know where I read it

It's turbos especially diesels that gain most & from having my previous A3 TDi 170 Quattro remapped, biggest difference was the grunt, even power across the range & removal of flat spots.

For those who've been out for a play in their Zed's at various meets during the summer, you'll know that despite the //M having all that extra power there's not too much of difference in performance between 50 & just over the 3 figure number... although after 120 be the first to hold my hand up & say it's a different story.

Save yr money is my vote on normally asperated engines
