Hi Everyone,
Wanted to know if anybody has had their 3.0 engines remapped? I have been offered a remap (By a very knowledgable, reliable source, and old colleague) for a bargain price which will give another 18bhp. Its not a huge increase but wondered if anyone has had similar work done and what the results were like?
I seem to recall someone saying that under normal driving it was like having the sport button on, then when the sport button was activated it was another increase?

I'll bet it's exactly like the sport button. :evil: It feels different but you actually do not get any extra power. :cry:

Noticeable? Yes
Worth the money? Yes

Think I may have it dyno'd before and after its got to be worth a punt at the price?

That was my view as long as it didn't make it slower worth a shot

My son has just bought a Megane DCi so its going to be £300 for remapping the pair and I have access to a Dyno which is FOC, although a little aprehensive about thrashing it on a a dyno?
Think I'd rarther just try it on the road to feel for an increase?

Although I would be apprehensive about cheap maps

A couple dyno sessions isn't going to hurt anything, as long as there's plenty of cooling air. I think you'd be a fool to pass on FOC dyno sessions. (I'm jealous, actually) Empirical data trumps butt dyno any time, any where. Not to say that road manners aren't important, just that your impressions can't be very objective.
