Remap for 35iS

Has anyone done this ?

I have used DMS in Southampton before rather successfully on my E92 330d LCI taking it from 242bhp to 302bhp which was a great map. DMS are not cheap but they are good.

I know DMS reckon they can (and have) got the 35iS from 335bhp to 402bhp !! Apparently due to the exhaust, revised intake and a couple of other bits added to the 35iS over the 35i it goes beyond the 370bhp they get from the 35i. The owners brother who I deal with says he personally has done 3 or 4 35iS's and it responds better than the 35i.

I am not going to do it as I think 335bhp should be adequate for me plus I wonder at what point it becomes useless in 1st and 2nd as too much of a battle to control it or find a place to use the power. This coupled with the engine taking that extra strain means to me stay at 335bhp and keep my warranty !

Just interested in peoples views if done.
 
I haven't remapped mine - feels plenty strong enough for me right now.

To be honest the power it has seems to be just enough to 'unsettle' the handling - I fancy a LSD (probably Quaiffe) before going with any more power.

I had my 335i remaped, but the BHP is meaningless in opion.

Whats more important is torque, and an remap transforms this, to an amazing overtaking machine.

Its the ability to go from 40 mph to wharp factor 20 back to 50 mph.

I know that an 35is is different to an 335i - but that is my experieance
 
Without an LSD your limiting factor will always be the amount of power that can be laid down on the tarmac. 335 hp without an LSD is borderline :crazydude:

I can certainly second that. My standard Jag XFS, while having a lowly 275bhp, has 600nm of torque and leaves almost anything for dead in real world road driving/overtaking :)

30-70 (legal of course) is staggering.

Maybe at low speeds that's true. But while moving an LSD is certainly not required to put down the power.

Also put some Pilot Super Sports on the car and you will find you have a whole lot more traction to play with. The runflats that come with the car may struggle with stock power but there's a huge improvement to be made in tyres alone.
 
I'm not so sure.

When really pressing on in the 35is you get some definite shimmies that are traction related at some quite high speeds even with PSS tyres which I have.

I test drove a similar car with the Quaiffe LSD fitted, these issues were gone. Also the LSD completely changes the traction ability when setting off in a hurry / cornering at silly speeds. Makes the car a lot less twitchy.

Yep, I test drove a 35is and I really noticed it struggling for traction compared to my M with an LSD.

Same bit of road, slightly damp about 30mins apart. M was first as it was on the way to dealership and slightly wetter. I really noticed it coming onto a dual carriage way from a roundabout. Full power up through the gears and the traction light was on a lot, plus it was squirming a bit. The traction didn't come one once in the M.

From my test drive, an LSD was the biggest thing I thought it was lacking!
