Remap and BMW service (software update)

I am off to P torque soon to get my 2014 28i stage 1 remapped. If I use BMW for next service I would have to tell them not to touch software. How common are the software updates? I guess they would write over a remap. I don't really want to miss out on updates. I guess this is the price you pay. I had a mini cooper S remapped at P torque and it felt a different car. I will be looking at 290 ish Bhp with a good torque increase. I have 8 speed auto . Is the auto box prone to early clutch wear out with a remap? I take it easy most if the time with no track days.

Is the car still under warranty?
If it is - then I would either wait or go down another route

In any normal service, they would not alter you ECU flash - and there is no need to tell them.

I am aware a few remappers -will not charge you to re-install their map - if it has been changed by the dealers.

Hope it helps,

warranty about to expire so I not worried about that. I think P torque would re flash for free but its a hassle getting there etc. I was going to keep this one standard lol.

Tape up the obd port with a note asking them not to connect/reflash your car, just in case something gets lost in translation. :?

Buy a second ECU, get it cloned, remap it as planned and take it out when it goes to the garage. That way you shouldn't affect your warranty.
