Reluctant 1st time Z4 owner

Hello everyone
I’m hoping to get some advice on whether I should keep or sell my Z4, which I have inherited and know nothing about.
I would like to keep her as she is sentimental to me and I am also really enjoying driving her. My reluctance comes from knowing absolutely nothing about cars and also for the next 12 months, she would be my sole car as I am waiting for a company car which will be electric (likely a Volvo EX40).
She’s 09 plate, 2.5ltr manual. All seems to be working absolutely fine and has full service history with a BMW garage. Any thoughts on what I should do would be welcome. Thanks guys

Just drive it and see how you get on with it. I may grow on you or it may not.

Even though it's something sentimental for you if you don't gel with you could always sell it and use the money to buy something you know will enjoy and get more out of and the person who left it to you would be happier knowing you did that than to keep something that you don't really like or use.'
 
Think the above is the best advice- try it until your company car comes. If you like it keep it, if not sell it and buy something else to remember the person who left it to you (art, sculpture, experience etc)

So if I decide to keep it, would I need to change the tyres for winter? I do a 25 mile round trip commute everyday but could WFH if it showed. The car has BS Potenza RFT on 17” wheels. I’m in the East Midlands, UK.

I think the above comments are spot on.

Don't over think it and spend time with her.
You seem to have a reliable car and have time until the company car comes along.
Treat her well and she will surely reward you in turn.

If you run into anything that worries you or need advice, the kind people here on the forum will assist you any way they can.
Relax, have fun.
Probably the only chance you will have to enjoy a car like this, so enjoy her!

If you can WFH in inclement weather, no real need for winter/all season tyres.

Worth keeping at least until your company car arrives and if you have fallen in love with it by then keep as a second, fun, car.

I can only echo what others have said. You're enjoying driving your Z4 and with good service history there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to use it as your daily driver for 12 months - or more!

There aren't many Red ones about but I think the colour really suits it.
 
My wife is also a 'Malteser'. And has owned two E89 Z4s. And we live in the east midlands.
Not relevant but just saying.
 
Hello and welcome to club zed. If you enjoy having the roof down you’ll love the car, if you’re just meh about the wind in your hair, then sell and buy something that you’ll want as a keepsake.

If in the short term, you’ll be regularly using the car, it’s the only one you’ve got and you need it no matter what, then I would suggest fitting a good all season tyres that you can use all year round. I’m still amazed that people don’t think they’re needed in the uk, it ain’t about getting going, rather trying to stop when you really have too on a cold, wet February morning. As they say in F1, be on the right tyre at the right time 👍
 
Welcome. I would echo what others have said - use the car and get a feel for it over time. Especially with this glorious summer we are having. It's not going to depreciate any more between now and when your new car arrives, so you may as well get the use out of it and then decide what to do when the time comes.
 
Welcome. Same as everyone else, use and enjoy it, you will probably fall in love with it.
It will be very docile for a RWD car and with traction/stability on you won’t have any issues driving it summer or winter. Nothing to be scared of.
 
Hi and (belayed) welcome to the forum. Agree with sars regarding winters (if you can afford an extra set) or all seasons, can be a life saver.
