Relaxation in CHRIS KNOTT age and experience criteria

The underwriters have stated it is due to the period of time I have owned the car = 23 months
And the period I have held my licence = 14 months

I don't recall seeing these terms anywhere before applying

Hi Luke,

I've checked what happened on this. It's a shame on this one because we were prepared to beat your alternative quote and reduce your excess but we had to refer it to the insurer because of your postcode. On referring it to the insurers for approval they declined it on the basis of a combination of factors. It's a combination of this being your first car and you have not long passed your test and you live in a risky postcode. Each on their own would not be an issue. Together they presented too much of a risk for the insurer.

Next year the balance will be back in your favour as you'll have more driving experience and another year's bonus. We'll definitely be able to help then.

best,
Nick

ChrisKnottIns,

I appreciate your looking into the situation for me.

However it obviously makes no difference.

First car yes - And managing 15,500 miles in the first year of driving, a high performance vehicle at that, with no points and no accidents.

27 years old in 8 weeks.

The car would be driven way below 5,000 miles this year.

The car would be garaged in the "risky post code"

How Salford Quays is a risky post code baffles me but I know insurance moves in mysterious ways.

I'm more annoyed at the refusal to even offer a quote, can't beat the best offer I have had? okay fair enough, but to point blank shun me was the most annoying aspect.

As I said, had we been given clearance on the postcode we had a rate of about £1680. The postcode drew the insurer's attention to the rest of the risk and on balance they decided they didn't want to take a chance at any cost. I'm sorry about that but we had nowhere else to go after that.
