Rejoice the price of fuel !

I wondered what was going on with fuel at the start of the week. Local BP had been 105.9 for petrol and 106.9 for diesel then Monday morning 116.9 for petrol and 107.9 for diesel. Turns out someone had incorrectly updated the price (again) as that happened a few weeks back too. The forecourt was busy in the morning so god knows how many people they screwed over before they realised their 'error'.

Be careful what you wish for re the European prices !
I know that in the Netherlands car tax or whatever they call it our there, makes your eyes bleed!
So if it costs an extra tenner a week or £520 a year, we are still well ahead on the deal!

Just be thankful we didn't get independence.

With the oil the way it is Scotland would have been well and truly screwed.

I dont agree but everybody is entitled to their own opinion :)
 
I've long since given up even looking. It goes up or down and makes no difference. You'll fill up and use the same on average at £1 as you will when it next reaches £1.50, after a bit of moaning about the price...
 
But it does make a hell of a difference to my heating oil price … about £700 less to fill up the tank.

Yea i get that logic but as someone who run's 3 cars from 1 pocket it does feel better when prices are going down rather than up :wink:
i put £25 a week in the family car but it doesn't use that , £27.50 brimmed it today as i knew it was near full . Once full i run it to empty (2-3 weeks ) & start the process again

Of course it feels better, but imho not worth paying any attention to. I run 2x3l 1x4l and 1x5l so know what fuel prices mean per tankful. On the up side my mortgage is so cheap I purchased a second home (I remember hitting 15% once) and in any event depreciation costs me more than fuel for cars.
It all just balances out.
 
I'm with CJ, I never see more than 20mpg with any of my cars and they're always fed V-Power regardless of the waxing and waning prices. Of course it does feel good to have more money in my pocket, but it's likely to be spent on cars anyway :lol:
 
Amazed to see diesel is now matching the petrol price at a record low... 98.7 at the local Asda.

Agreed it doesnt make me use less...but makes a big difference on what i claim back with the HMRC milage rates still at 45p per mile!
