Seems we also have a slightly strange things going on here. Once a week the nearest BP puts its fuel up by 1p and the following day it's back down by 1p again. it seems like a lot of effort for a day.
 
It drags in the "ooooh it's cheaper today " brigade or when it goes up its the "ooooh it's going up again" brigade!

Same here, although it was 1.15p. Thought it was very strange.

I think its due to a drop in production costs of diesel woldwide :?
A news article last week suggestED the pump price of diesel should actually be significantly lower than unleaded right now but as ever lower supply costs have not been transferred to the forecourts
 
Super is creeping up again, very gradually - 125.9 today, and I'm sure the last time I filled up on Friday it was 124.9.
 
Away in France at the moment and even on the motorways 98 fuel is only £1.15 a litre. And don't get me started on the overall quality of life here. Why is the UK such an almighty shithole?

I last filled up on the 25th of May :oops: so I usually can't remember what I paid last time I filled up. The R32 hasn't been filled up since the 2nd of May and won't be filled up until it's time for SS Classic. I therefore can't complain re the increase in price as I don't drive enough :headbang: need to sort that out!

But I have noticed the price locally shoot up quite rapidly and then level out but it did go up about 5p over a week and a half.
 
Xmas cheer on the way for motorists ? We can,t grumble after a year of low prices by past comparison
Unleaded 95 hovered between £1.10/£1.20 through the summer heading down to very reasonable £1.05 (Sainsbury.s Manchester yesterday ) but the elusive £1 could be happening before Xmas :thumbsup:

Costco unleaded was below £1/litre at the beginning of the year - and has been around that price all year.

Their super unleaded was £1.05/litre when I was last there.

It's 8 miles from me too, so I normally stick with the local Shell/Tesco.

Unless I'm shopping at Costco it's not worth the drive for a £3.60 saving for my average 36 litre fill up.
 
With the low fuel prices all the oil industry workers and any company related to the oil industry have you feeling guilty over the low prices as they are laying people off.
Although its never good for people losing their jobs you have to feel that these people have seen the good life for years while people like myself have had to struggle with high fuel prices and now its not going good for them we have to feel sorry.

It's just supply and demand. I feel sorry for all the guys who are being laid off as its not their doing. It's the large companies/countries controlling the output and causing the changes in price etc.

It's a boom and bust industry. It will pick up again!
 
It's nice to have the fuel prices where they are but the oil industry is taking a huge hit.
My father mentioned the company he's working for are laying off 10-15k people, and they're not an oil company.
He's busy enough, since he deals with companies wanting to keep old equipment running.
 
I filled up with Diesel yesterday at Costco and saved 3.5p per litre.
Man maths : 3.5p x 4.5 litres to the gallon = about 14p/Gallon
12 gallons at 14p = Saving of about £1.70 but had to use a debit card rather than the usual Tesco credit card at Tesco pumps.

Cocked up the wifes Monthly financial jiggery pokery no end (as we normally buy everything on the credit card then clear it to zero every month) and I also got no Club Card points that we normally use to eat out on at a 4-to-1 value ratio , so all in all, I dont think it was any great saving really.
