Rejoice the price of fuel !

I'm just waiting for The Saudis to decide to slow production and watch prices rocket. Once the Frackers are out of town we're fucked.

Brilliant its 108.9 at my local Shell.
I have been wondering though even though the price is coming down diesel is consistantly 7p dearer than petrol.
Surely the gap should be narrowing as it gets cheaper?
Should it not be a percentage difference?
Also why is it never .7p or .5p like it used to be? It always goes up and down by full pennies nowadays.
Why dont they just round it up to the nearest penny and be done with it.
 
If I remember correctly, the labour government at the time, put a straight X Pence / litre differential tax on diesel.

The problem with Diesel is that its used in more than just cars and the demand keeps the price higher than petrol. You never know as people start getting hammered for diesel cars due to their emmission, plus the new test for them as part of the MOT this year people 'might' start to turn back to petrol possibly reducing the price. Doubtful but it could happen.

I'm hopeful that by the time I need to fill up, prices will still be down. I last filled up the Friday before xmas so fast approaching a month ago but I've a BP about 300 yards from where I live and I've noticed their prices come down every other day although still higher than most places at 107.9p

Not bad at all. I always go to Shell at Ferry Road or of I'm heading east Seafield or Musselburgh. I tend to find they are priced more in line with the local supermarkets. As there isn't any competition really close to Canonmills they charge what they like and it's always busy so won't drop it prices too much.
