Rejoice the price of fuel !

Funny how Tesco does not like it when I take a few 20 litre jerrycans with me with the 20p discount.

there is a small issue with you technically not being allowed to take that much in cans. stations are within thier rights to refuse. its something like 2x10L metal or 2 x 5L plastic although i think you can have both so a max of 30L. 20L plastic or metal cans are not suppose to be used unless you only put 10L in.
 
I have the proper metal ones.

Petrol I can understand, but I put diesel in them for which there is no limit. I have a 50 liter tractor to fill with diesel so have to get 3 20 liter jerrycans filled up.

its changed a bit from when i last looked. but yes it is a bit limiting. still didnt stop me rocking up to a pay as you go pump after hrs and filling 2x20 and 2x5 for a track day. technicaly i only stored it for 8 hrs :D

i guess its one of those things the petrol station staff will get wrong easy.

That is all petrol based though - if you think that I have a 4000 liter oil tank for house hold oil as well :D
 
It used to be £100, but that was raised a few years back as I could not even fuel the X5 for that.

If you are getting diesel for a tractor then why don't you just buy a barrel of red diesel?

Unless of course you are using it as daily transport... :o
 
Red diesel barrel is just too much fuel for me as I only use the tractor in the summer and then I would end up with say 4 - 5 year old diesel in a barrel somewhere.

Another minor issue is that I blocked the road from the barn to avoid the gipsies stealing it so getting it there is a challenge by itself ...
 
Red, only if on agricultural use!
If they are registered as historic, white diesel has to be used.
 
My tractor is only used agricultural, the cost of getting red negates the savings from the VAT / Duty though.
 
i think heating oil comes in differently for storage as you probably have a proper tank. tbh i think its good thing. people are stupid an do dim things like storing it pop bottles and sharing it out in their kitchen next to a cooker :headbang:

i remember it affecting a mate who was a tree guy. he used to go and collect 60L in 3 20L metal cans to run all his chippers/saws etc.
 
I don't like storing petrol in the garage, even if in gerry cans. Even the couple of gallons for the lawn mower!
Having said that, the zed is in the garage with a full tank :D
