Rejoice the price of fuel !

Now just £1.20.9 at Sainsbury's, Greenwich Peninsula. Dropped another penny in a week.
 
I can remember filling up my first motorcycle at 73p a GALLON !!!!!!

Ok so I am an OB but we all were totally distraut when the price went over a pund a gallon and look where we are now.

Oil prices have been consistently falling and at the moment are at the same price as when fuel was at the £1 a litre so just ask why the prices haven't fallen to the same level ?

If you're really that bothered about the price of fuel, I'm driving a rental Hyundai diesel estate this week.
Anyone fancy a swap? (you drive to Stockholm to drop it off though) :D
On a less sarcastic note.....
Fuel prices down might actually = Stuff getting cheaper.
Perhaps this is how the supermarkets can suddenly afford to indulge us in a price war at the moment?
Maybe even Tesco can fill that black hole that they've suddenly admitted to.... :evil:

Its hardly worth getting excited over.
2p off a litre, fill your tank with 50 litres, wow you have saved £1.
Get it below £1 and then we can see some savings.
Never happen though.
 
I went to sainsbury's this morning... 122.9 for std unleaded.. 124.9 for 97 i couldnt believe it!

Only about £1 less per tank... But my wife covers 600 miles a week in a her daily commute so thats atleast £1.50 leas per week or £78 a year = a free tank of fuel :)

£1.21 @ my local morrisons + I just got a 10p voucher , so £1.11, this time + my 20 ltr container gets filled at the same time.
Dont compare to 1966 tho when I filled up my first motor bike , sure it was 5 shillings an 6 pence a gallon.lol

I was first driving in the early 70's. I used to put a quid's worth a week in my Ford Pop which got me around 3 gallons, lasted me all week.
 
Yes, I served petrol early 70's when I remember 6 gallons of 4star cost £2.22. Why would I remember that when I can't remember what I paid yesterday....scary!

Well said RoyE, pleased I'm not the only one!
 
But the average salary in 1971 was also just £2k a year so isn't that just predominantly 43 years worth of inflation and additional demand?
 
So, I just paid 128.9p per litre for Shell V-power this evening. I have to say I am definitely enjoying paying almost the same price for fuel that I was doing when sticking 'normal' fuel in my old Z. This one still drinks it a tad faster though :evil:
 
We tend to do the big grocery shop at Tesco each week and get the 20p a litre discount. It all adds up but as it takes a month of shopping to get to the 20p level, it's only one tank we can fill at the discounted price :thumbsdown:
