Reinforcement Plate Bolts Group Buy?

Hi all,

I don't know about all of you, but I've certainly avoided removing the reinforcement plate under the front sub-frame because the bolts are supposed to be replaced and rather expensive from BMW - I have just ordered 8 for just over £22.

So I looked online and found a company that sells the same spec bolts and I thought if some of you want to have a few sets spare like I do, then here's is what I'm thinking:

3 sets per person - 24 bolts each:

  • If just one other person wants to do this with me then £25 each for 25 bolts.
  • If 4 of us want to do this, then each bolt will cost £0.61: So ~£15 per person.
  • If 8 of us want to do this, then each bolt will cost £0.53: So ~£13 per person.

Add a little bit more to that price for postage from whoever receives the order (happy to leave it to someone with more forum rep than me).

Captive washer will help with correct torque application but no biggy. I expect these are good for several uses but BMW play it safe with single use (because how can you know?). It's not like they're aluminium.

Do you re-use yours and if so do you still follow the torque settings down to the angle or you stop at the first torque spec?
