Has anyone got any prior experience of putting a personalised registration plate that's been on retention onto an existing vehicle?

I've sent off all my stuff to the local VRO about a week ago. I know it's supposed to be up to '10 working days' but the wait is awful!

Has anyone had experience of this and generally what's the view on real world times?

Sending it via the post has clearly slowed it down somewhat.

took me about 20 days by post - iv had it done instantly at the office for the wifes plate..... sorry....
