Registration districts

Does anyone have a list or link to registration letters by town/district.

I can find it for the current format of AB 01 ABC, but am looking for the older style of registration from the 60's of 1234 AB, etc.

Buddy has purchased a TR4 so we're curious of origin of the reg.

Thanks guys - both of those confirm what I needed. It's a Coventry origin car.

I hope to arrange a photo session with Z4 next to a Red TR4 in the not too distant future. Not sure how it will work but classic Brit traditional heavy sports car next to Z4 with flame edge design, etc. might just work. Lots of horses, barns, heavy equipment, fileds to backdrop against

However if anyone is handy with a camera to take some pics in on a farm of the 2 and or others, near Tamworth (M42) you'd be most welcome.

TR4 is a beautiful car :D

Photos with both will surely look great

That doc I found took some finding - glad it helped!

I couldn't see anything for the old registrations at first look so those links helped :)

I saw this car in the corner of a barn yesterday and knew it was a TR4 just from profile (OK perhaps 4A)
But once the covers were off it looked so nice. A reshelled example in red with all black interior and knock on spoked rims. Way too cool

I had a TR6 a few years ago and I paid a tenner for the DVLA to send me copies of all the paperwork they held on the car. It was interesting. The dealer paperwork came from when they registered it in the first owners name, then all of the changes of address and every hand written form that was ever submitted to them right up to the time of my ownership. Im sure they must still do it. I used it to verify the cars history and it turned out to add a fair bit onto the price when I sold it. I miss that car

Hi cj10jeeper

I'm in Solihull and always up for a 'photo opportunity' ... when were you thinking of?

Kevin

Hi Kevin,

I'd not considered a specific date but work from home near Lichfield so frankly can make most times of the week. Pretty much anytime to suit and I can phone the owner and get mine over there too.

Car and farm are up at the A5/M42 junction (1/2 mile from there, so only a short hop from Solihull.

Your E type and Z4 signature is the sort of contrast I thought of :)
