Registering / Coding New Battery

Hello all,

Just got a new battery for the ///M. I assumed that it would need registering / coding, but having looked at the ECU tree on ISTA and then looked at the service function options, it appears the car does not have an IBS and therefore does not need the new battery to be registered / coded.

Can someone confirm this is the case please or am I missing something.

Car is 2007 build.

Cheers,

I don't think it will need coding, although I'm not entirely certain - my 2006 3.0Si Coupe didn't need it's battery to be coded and neither did my 2006 E91.

Whereas my 2007 123d with stop/start and an AGM battery did need coding (so it cost over £250 to replace back in 2011). :headbang:

Definitely no coding, one of the benefits in the "old" electronics of the E85/E86. Things started getting wacky when the E90 3-series came along in 2006, but never affected our cars.
