Registering a pool car?

Hey all,

We are looking at buying a second hand pool car for our employees to share at work (strictly business use only, stays parked outside work etc), but I can't seem to find any guidance anywhere as to how it is registered on the V5C. Does it have to be registered to an individual in the business like the MD or can it be registered to the Ltd company?

I would say just registered to the company and any employees using it named on the insurance, you will also have to keep a record of who is using it at any time due to summons for driving offences, speeding etc.

I was running a delivery/collection van to pick up/drop off rolls of A0 size technical drawings and stuff and it was registered to my UK business.
I don't know what the rules are like in the UK now but after moving the business over here to NL they're sh!t hot on making sure you don't use it for personal trips!

Get yourself a tracker fitted so you can literally keep track of it at any given time.
On one particular little collection job one of my contracting employees decided he would detour to his mum's for lunch, then nip into the city centre for an hour, then stop off at a mcdonalds for another 1/2 hour, then decide to turn up back at the office at the end of the day when the whole trip should have taken him no more than 2.5 hours.

It was when the cheeky little bleeder claimed to be stuck in a traffic jam for most of his time out of the office that the tracking log came in very handy. Suffice to say he was rather embarrassed when I showed him the log and had nothing to say for himself.
I also terminated his contract there and then. Sod warnings, I place a lot of value on trust.
