Refurbed Wheels

I was planning on a refurb of my wheels this winter.

But on saturday I decided to drive to work in the M.

Just as pulled into the car park there was an almighty bang as I hit a big hole on the LHR peri track at around 30mph.

The tyre hasn't holed. (Bridgestone RE050 non rft - it's an M), but the wheel is a huge mess. I'll post pics soon but it's too depressing. The tyre has delaminated around the impact site on the sidewall so it's buggered too. Amazingly it didn't deflate. They're saying 3/4 days.

So it 's going into these guys: Platinum Alloy Wheel Solutions that used to be Lepsons in Swindon. £165 for the front seemed vgv too

Same staff by the look of it.

Taking it in on Mon. Hoping to collect on Sat. Any advice?

IIRC Heathrow isn't council owned. I'm not sure where the private and public boundary is.

Good choice with platinum. Let me know when you're in, my office is close and a coffee is always available if I'm around :)

Hope so, here's the before:

What you can't see is that the rim of the wheel has completely cut through the tyre wall, popping out below the "E" of Bridgestone. Hasn't deflated though and got m home on Monday. They really struggled with the concept that the tyres were OEM sizes too. I had to get them to look at the sticker on the door. Hopefully they'll do a good job.

Thanks for the offer Stuart. I'll be dropping it off on Monday as soon as my attempt to drink my own bodyweight in cider at WOMAD has worn off :P . My wife will be giving me a lift home so probably won't hang about.

It would be great to see what a "new" one looks like sometime though!

All ready for collection tomorrow, just back from Delhi. Really excited to see what they've done. They called on Thursday to say they were ready, so 3 days work.

Immie rarely makes it to Swindon now. I'm being firmer with myself about her being the weekend toy. We're close to being on your way back though (Tetbury) or the coffee offer is still open in Swindon if I'm around.
