Refitting valvetronic motor

I have recently changed my valve cover, removing the valvetronic motor as commonly recommended but when it came to refitting the bottom bracket bolt is out of line and I can't seem to get it lined up. Has anyone else experienced this and how have you fixed it please?

Are you winding it back in using the Allen key on the top of the motor??

I am and it looks to be sitting perfectly apart from the bottom bolt, should I not be winding it back in?

Has the front face pulled up to the cover?
Had you turned it fully clockwise before undoing the bolts and winding it out?
Is it engaging when you start to wind it in?
Done mine about 2 weeks ago, no issues.

The front face looks flush with the cover, I turned it clockwise before removing and anti clockwise to wind it out then wound it back in and it pulls in fine... Don't want to risk relearning and starting the engine with that bracket bolt missing though

Put the bottom bolt in before the two at the front?
How far out is it?
Gasket sitting okay, right way around?

It's a new cover? BMW or copy?

If the bolt isn’t lined up it certainly isn’t fitted correctly. I’d pull it out and start again
