Redundant Skycards anyone ?

I have the boxes ( pre sky+) & now need the 2 cards ,
They are for a place in France i,m working on .
My electrician there is connecting up the UK satellite dish next weekend & says there is no need for them but from past experience the boxes only work with a card in even though it does not access any subscription channel,s ,
It only allows access to "free to air" channel,s as with Freeview here in UK
So nothing sinister or underhand :roll:

If you have a dish, then just the freesat box will do (from £60 for HD - Bush, Argos. We had one and it was fine, ) You can spend more and get built in PVR. (no, not him) Or if you dont have a dish, Maplins do a full kit.
A Pvr might be a good idea, as I think iplayer etc will suss out you're abroad and throw its toys out of the pram
