"Reduction in price to move hood motor into boot"

Weather is looking good for Tuesday when myself and Smartbear are making the trip from South Essex to get our motors relocated.
280 miles each way so we are taking our wives and stopping off overnight, so we can take in some of the scenery while up there, and of course some of the local roads  :driving:

Stuart

Thanks crazy, it's simple enough job you do your self, would never drive 280miles for a fix

Crazy? It's a fiddly job that plenty of people have had problems with, nothing wrong wth using someone's expertise & experience while combining it with a days drive, it would be crazy to struggle doing it yourself

Totally agree, went today only 260 mile round trip, awesome roads all the way. :driving:
Dave and his crew did a brilliant job on the motor move and fitted my Gaptech too all for £80 in 45 mins.
Great cafe close by too.

The only crazy bit is thinking about doing it yourself....

That's great
We managed about 700miles over the 2 days what with the drive out to the Hartside cafe, then the dales on the way home.
More than worth the effort :D

Another happy customer. Durham dave relocated the motor today despite the pipes being tangled. Big thanks to cherry for posting Dave's details up on the forum.

Nice dry motor
Although now I need a micro switch for the rear shelf, an when I drop the roof shortly after I get a red flashing led next to the roof switch

The micro switch is only about £20. I got one a few years back from a main dealer for £18.

Although my Z's a garage queen, I think it makes sense when back on the road next spring to future proof and have this done.
Has yours had a replacement markplant? If not its in remarkable condition

Not as far as I'm aware of , previous owner didn't mention it an nothing in the receipts that got

I'm beginning to think there's a pattern to the condition of these roof motors on re-location- they're either a bucket of rusty old bolts or are in pristeen condition such as mark's my own and a few others ive seen on here.
There doesnt seem to be any 'middle-ground'.
Durham Dave told me mine was the best condition he'd ever seen until about a month later when i saw on here that he'd said the same thing about a subsequent one, lol. Any theories, explanation?

Mine. Got lucky.
