Reducing buffeting for tall driver in roadster

I'm about 6'3 and with the seat at its lowest I'm below the roll hoop (just!) but have found even with the wind deflector there is an uncomfortable level of wind noise/buffeting past 40mph with the roof down but windows up. I've found a roadster I really like so was wondering if there was anything other then the OEM wind deflector that could help as I'd rather not have to wear ear plugs on longer or faster journeys or cause damage to my hearing.
I've currently got a mk3 Toyota Mr2 roadster and have previously had Lotus Elise's which have all been fine for wind noise up to motorway speeds (I needed ear plugs in the Elise though due to the engine noise).
Any ideas?

if the OEM wind deflector isn't doing it for you there's little hope anything else will work. We've got many 6'3"+ members driving Z4 roadsters - I may be wrong, but I can't recall them having the same kind of issues?

I'm 6'1" and have the OEM wind deflector on my Zed. I usually drive with the windows up and find it is fairly civilised and quiet with no buffeting. I can easily talk to my passenger without shouting up to 60/70 mph. As far as I am concerned there is no issue.

I was tw@tting about with the seat height adjustment on my crappy non-sport seats to try and find a modicum of comfort, alas unsuccessfully. However, I did find that noise levels and buffeting increased significantly at motorway speeds. I'm 6'1" so i suppose this approximates the op's height at the seats' highest setting.

I can't remember where i saw it or indeed what car it was for but i saw a clip-on deflector somewhere that attaches to the top of a windshield hood mechanism when the hood is down to deflect airflow presumably. If my soggy old noodle of a brain can recall more details i'll post them here....lol

Lol, i wouldn't quite go that far, but i bet it has a monstrous pricetag.

I'm 6'3" and find the Z4 very comfortable, the OEM wind-blocker is a bonus but not a game changer. But when I went to buy an Elise I gave up as i couldn't sit in it with the roof on! 8)

It can be a bugger when you're tall - as a Lotus fan I'd love to own an Elise but at 6'7" just can't fit in it - i'm surprised the OP can at 6'3"
same experience with the MX5 .

Z4 however is relatively comfortable for me even with roof up - obviously with the seat at it's lowest and back as far as it will go - I also have an OEM wind deflector - never been aware of excessive buffering when driving with roof down but then there is no motorway down here to fully test it :lol:

I think the OEM deflector serves it's purpose and looks good but does restrict vision quite a lot when looking through the mesh .

Yes at 6ft 4 I have the same problem with the wind in my er hair even though I have the OEM deflector, I am living with it as all other cnvertibles were worse for me being sat too high, but the ownership grin compensates though :driving: I have electric seats in the lowest position though are these higher than non electric?

I am 6ft3 and Ihave the seat at its lowest setting but I worry more about my knee hitting the steering wheel letting the cluch out lol
I haven't noticed wind noise to much the wind in your hair is part of the enjoyment but I don't take mine on the motorway to often

I,m around that height and find the perspex wind deflector is very good. Plenty for sale on ebay
