Red's first "repair"

So I was basically showing off Red to a mate, who (with permission) sat in the drivers seat. He started checking all the cubby holes, drinks holders etc, including the sunglasses pod. He lowered it, and then raised it again. It would seem one of the arms of my glasses got caught between the lip and the sprung loaded catch, and it wouldn't close.

His solution?

Let's try it a couple more times with a load of brute force. :o

Cue one busted catch. :(

I found the plastic bit of the catch just under the handbrake & drove home with a) a grump on and b) the sunglasses pod open.

Got home & found the spring rolling around in the lowered pod. With a bit of patience and a needle nose pliers it's back in a working.

Note to self: get rid of the aviator style sunglasses - they don't fit properly.

You were lucky. Somebody posted the cost of replacing that little holder. £160 odd quid from memory.

£160? :whistles: I realised I was lucky, now I know how lucky

I'll keep the mate and Red separated.

Thought this was the thread about the repair to the filthy exhausts :poke:

Ant, above the rear view mirror in the coupe, is a storage compartment for sunglasses. Might have been optional, not sure?

ahh ok aye theres a little flap there for mine but it lets you at some mechanism for the softtop lol

some friends are more trouble than they are worth lol, sack him off and get a car friendly mate

Think I'm doing better than PVR as my reaction to the title was "Oh no what's gone wrong " rather than " what has he done to my car" :poke:

Glad you fixed it OK 8)

Thanks Ruth, sorry to have worried you unnecessarily :)

How's the new car search coming along?
