Hi everyone,

I have been using supermarket fuel in the new BMW 320d and I just noticed two things. On the filler it says do not use biofuels and on the supermarket pump it says 7% biofuel. This got me thinking. Now I am not too worried about the 320d as it is only six months old. But I do have a couple of other vehicles, a 1998 VW T4 2.5 diesel and the 3.0si Zed.

Has anyone used Redex and had problems afterwards? Problems with the vehicle/engine that is. The T4 coughs out smoke like a navvy on capstan full strength.

bmw don't recommend use of such products like redex just use good oil and fuel to keep system clean as for the fuel id start using premium diesel instead of regular

Thanks for that.

So its just down to the old VW T4

Your old T4 will probably handle bio fuel much better then a modern diesel.

All comes down to the seals in the pump. A quick google should give you the answer.
