Red Wheels?

Coloured wheels generally don't work but certain cars can pull it off but they have to be the right colour on the right car.

Examples of not the right colour would be the yellow boxter round my way with --- you guessed it yellow wheels. Or the red boxter with red wheels I saw the other day.

I think this works though but I think the other bits of orange tie it all together. If it was just the wheels not sure it would works so well. Hmm orange on a Z, where's that man with photoshop?

The only cars that can pull off coloured wheels are classics from the 50s/60s with steel & chrome wheels:

Even then they have to match the paintwork...
Modern cars just look like plastic toys when they have coloured wheels, IMO

ah, yeah white on white looks ok on a rally car (and black on black always looks good, silver on silver is obviously a given)... but paint that red/yellow/lime green and match the wheels, and you're back to Tonka territory :P

A small change to the tone of red used on the wheels can improve the look 'slightly'...

Or you could go 'rally slag'...

Oh come on! Have a look at the pic of that GT3 RS above and tell me that it doesn't pull it off?! Agree though it needs the additional body stickers in the same colour to work though.

I like that!

As for the red, I don't think that would work really. Looks good on some cars but I don't think they would on the Z4. But on the other hand, black with a red lip would be very sexy

This site does make me laugh sometimes! We are all so 'different' and 'cool' because we've got stubbies or AUX inputs or some other piece of boy-racer b/s, but when someone suggests something radical like coloured wheels you'd think the planet had stopped revolving FFS.

Then someone like Ally comes along and posts the coolest piece of "f*ck you!" paintwork any manufacturer could come up with and we STILL don't get it..... :headbang:

Shame on the lot of you.

Nice one Ally!

Paintwork (and wheel colour) is entirely aesthetic. Some like it, some don't... what's to get?
We can only state our own opinions, and in mine that Porsche looks a hell of a lot more 'boy racer b/s' than anything I've seen on here.

For a track type car I think red CSL's might look ok (spokes on a standard M wheels are too thick IMO). You'd need some red on the car too to break it up a little... wing mirrors, spoiler, etc

e.g. not black, but an idea of what i'm on about...

For road use I'd just cringe if I ever saw one!

Yeah, doesn't work on the Z4... :(

But seriously, a Porsche 911 GT3 with coloured alloys? No? Oh yes . Porsche has a history of coloured wheels, just look at this - one for my all-time lottery win garage:
