Red warning roof symbol suddenly randomly appears.

Found a very recommendable indi who sourced correct battery and programmed it a
and cleared historic fault codes. So far so good.

Tried it today and car fires up really fast . Roof operation showed red symbol on first activation and again when I closed it. Called indi and we’re going to give it a week or so
Largely to give him time to recode to find the fault. Intermittent electric problems always more difficult to find.

Battery replaced and programmed in by a indi German car specialist. Cleared fault codes . When lowering roof from key all perfect but raising with engine / and or lowering engine red symbol shows during operation. Indi is going to investigate further to find rogue sensor or wiring matter.
Hopefully an easy diagnosis.

Worth every penny to have Foxwell code reader. You can operate roof in real time and it shows the switches operating.
So could plug in, drive and see which switch throws a fault.

Tried roof today and as soon as it started releasing from the windscreen it locked open.
Several attempts with the buttons up / down it eventually closed . Hopefully my indi will get back to me soon.

I wouldn’t be trying the roof again until it’s been repaired Tony, otherwise you run the risk of immobilising your car if it malfunctions in an awkward position :?

I’ve been recommended to a German car specialist used by a friend of mine on his MB who’s more local so it’s going there on Monday January 25. He’s seems to have had a lot of experience with roofs so I’m hoping to can diagnose etc mine.
