On way to our shop from cash and carry this morning, was at "switch island" (A49/M58/M58 interchange) and there was a broken down Ford Kuga in the middle lane, with plod already in attendance.

Watch the video, and at around 35 seconds, the lights controlling the new bypass go green, allowing traffic to flow from left to right, unfortunately the woman in the red mazda 3 coming off the M58 "didn't see" the red lights...

I stopped at the scene and gave my details to the driver of the focus she had totalled...

He rang me later to thank me after I sent him the clip..

Really crap design that switch island. Totally missed getting on to the Netherton bypass coming off M58 twice! while visiting parents in Crosby the other week. Signs are sh*te.
Confusing for anyone not already familiar with it i think.
No excuses for goin through a red light tho, the bends before the lights are there to slow u down enough too.

That turn off onto the new bypass coming from copy lane direction is woeful as well, had to use it when I missed the turn off coming of the 57. As you said, poorly laid out, and badly signed!
