Red leather colour name/code.

Hi guys,

My drivers side seat has a scuff on the side bolster from where the previous owner used to get in and out. Now I want to have a go at repairing it with a Gliptone liquid leather scuffmaster kit, but ideally need to know the exact name. I have a sport model so the M-Sport seats, in red leather, it's the common red, similar to the cartoon Z4 at the top of the forum page ^. I've attached a photo from my car below but it was taken at dusk so not ideal. I'm away from home all week aswell so I can't take a photo of it in the light. Is this just known as "red" or has it got a specific name?

The link of colours currently supplied by gliptone is here if anyone would mind taking a look...

I'm guessing it could be "Z4 2003 red"?

Thanks :).

I ignored the "Z4 2003 Red" bit, when you fill out the order form put the make, model, year and list it as "Dream Red" (as PVR said)... I ordered the same last week, is spot on

Sorry guys just to make it clear my car isn't a 2003 model, it's an 06 facelift sport. I only listed the "2003 Z4 red" as that's one of the options on the gliptone site. Will an 06 still be dream red?

Sorry OP, not sure on that then. According to Parkers...
Individual Bi- colour New England leather >>Imola Red / Anthracite >> Oct 2006 to Dec 2008
New England leather >> Dream red >> Launch to Dec 2008
Oregon leather >> Dream red >> Launch to Now
Does sound like it would be dream red. Do you want me to send you a sample pot? PM me if you do, I'm sure I can spare some... ordered loads!

so you got your seats then?any update?
Arrived on Friday. Happy. As suspected not as bad as the pics - I took some myself to document my work, and they looking quite bad in the pics. As the seller mentioned there are some marks, on the driver's bolster mostly. Proving difficult to remove, mostly as I don't know what it is. I am toying with the idea of giving them to a pro to sort out, filled out some forms online last night while watching the Ashes, now waiting for quotes.

I'm also toying with the idea of making them heated. Not sure on that one - been too busy / sick to have a proper play!

You could be very right pvr- but my previous 2.5i had balck with red leather and i think it was dream red oregon and my current M in same combo is imola. too many shades of red.

Very kind of you PawnSacrifice, I've come to the conclusion it is dream red though so i'm just going to order the kit, thanks anyway :D . Have you had a go at repairing any of your scuffs?

Indeed, in fact this link may help with what you're going to do (I hope)... Leather Seat Restore (scuffs and scratches)

The Scuff Master stuff has been used by a few on here with good results - went back to them for the stuff for my red seats. It's safe to work on the assumption that if I have done something it's not very difficult!
