Red handled Bowden cable

Hi all,

At the weekend I cleaned my roof on my roadster. I pulled the red handled Bowden cable to help get to the awkward areas. Trouble is I m now unable to lower the roof using the motor. I have tried to push it back in but to no avail. Anybody got any advice/method they use to ensure it locks in place?

As it is not used for long periods, when it finally is, it very often gets stuck in the out position. From most of the feedback you just have to persevere in pulling and If you are pushing the roof button and you can hear the motor going but nothing happens it is a sure sign the cable has not re-engaged things.
 
Many thanks Midhurstman. Being patient and persevering were never my strong points! I will learn them both! Lol.
