Recommended wiper blades?

Not sure what is in stock and what is new now, but anyone that strongly recommends certain wiper blades? I tried asking AI and got the Bosch Aerotwin or the BMW OEM's as a recommendation.

On Autodoc I only found the Bosch Aerotwin Retro so I'm curious how that is with in terms of durability and wiping

Lately I didn't hear a single positive review about Bosch durability. Only plenty negatives.
The most positive opinions I've seen were for Valeo.

I fitted Michelin RainForce 21" + 20" to the 2.5i in October 2023 and they've been fine, cost me £16. The passenger blade fits better than the Bosch ones, but I suspect not quite as well as the OEM ones. Still slightly off the screen at rest and no issues with wind noise at speed.

I failed to check my notes and fitted Bosch SP21S/SP20 to the 3.0si in October 2024 and I'm already noticing a smear from the driver's blade when clearing light amounts of water from the screen, sadly. They don't fit quite as well as the Michelin but they still fit okay, no wind noise, etc.

Hah, good to know about the Bosch durability. I did hear that Bosch parts are being manufactured differently but can never be too sure.

My main concern is the streaks and the way it sits on the passenger side. I will look into the Michelins. Maybe best to go for OEM as I hear they work well

I was a big fan of Aerotwins but my last two sets have been rubbish, i binned the last set after only a few weeks and replaced them with Super Plus which have been much better.

I found the same, last sets of Aerotwins haven't lasted.

Mine juddered really badly, I tried every trick I know and I couldn't stop it. The Super Plus worked find with no tweaking needed.

I fitted Bosch Super Plus Universal Wiper Blade Set With Spoiler SP21/20S
Part no. 485110080 from EURO CAR PARTS. Currently under £15 for the pair, which is a bargain, and in line with the standard fitment and they work perfectly.

Well, it seems they don't deliver to the Netherlands from Euro car parts... doesn't exist on the international countries list however Iraq and Iran exist. Can't seem to find this specific model anywhere other than in the UK. interesting

Maybe these are specific for RHD? (i know, sounds silly)

I'll have a look at the Michelins and avoid the Aerotwin

I fitted a set of Halfords Flat Wiper Blades R51 & R45 (20" & 18") back in December 2023 almost as a last throw of the dice in an attempt to address windscreen judder and they've been great from day 1.
They worked for me anyway.

I haven't tried them on the Z4 yet but PIAA IMO makes the best wipers, I've used them on several different passenger cars with amazing results.

They're made in Japan, made out of silicone and include a towlette wipe that you apply on the glass which is a dry silicone lubricant. In use the wipers make no noise, the water beads up and they last a very long time.

When I install them, I use glass cleaner on the glass and THEN follow that up with household white vinegar on a microfiber to make sure the glass is super clean ; after this cleaning process I then use the included PIAA wipe.

I've accidentally removed the "dry lubricant" by cleaning the glass later, and while Amazon carries the PIAA wipes I found 3M's aerosol dry silicone lubricant (which is AWESOME in general) also worked on the glass.

I have family members that rolled their eyes at me when I installed PIAA wipers on their cars and told them how amazing they are. Then a few weeks later I got a phone call telling me how amazing they were when it rained :D . This is happened TWICE with two different family members.
