Thought this the best place to post, as it's related to buying bits...

Having originally noticed the standard halogen E85 lights were less than poor I opted for a 4300k HID kit from HIDs Direct.
Fitted with no issues but when it came to fitting some 4300k LED sidelights a few months later the LEDs looked distinctly yellow. Over the last month or two on long drives I've found my eyes getting quite tired at night.
Took a punt and ordered another 4300k set of burners from HIDs Direct (only £12.50 but so much better than 'upgrade' halogens) and fitted a new one to compare.

Lo and behold they were ever so slightly different. New one matched LEDs and old one was a bit 'whiter'.

I contacted HIDs Direct and told them I presume the original kit came with 5000k burners despite asking for 4300k. They sent a replacement set of 4300k, free and they arrived the next day. No hassle, no arguments, just did it.

I think that's pretty good customer service and is why I'd recommend using them if you're considering a HID kit (which passed a recent MOT with no mention).

I'm usually pretty quick to slate someone for poor service but not so when they do well :)

used them myself for my car before the Z, no complaints fitted and worked fine for the 3yrs i had the car

Beware they won't function correctly if you have automatic headlights.

What issues did you have? I have auto headlights and fitted a 4300 kit from HID Direct - works perfectly.

I had flickering issue's with mine on start up, then one would not ignite at all unless I manually turned the lights off and then back on. I googled this issue and it's very common when fitting hid's to auto headlight equipped vehicles.

I got my kit from these guys as my colleagues have used them before. I have auto headlights and the kit works absolutely perfectly. No flickers on start up. No issues at all.

In order to install the hid kit do you need to cut the plastic cover or leave the cover off or is there room to mount the ballast in the headlight?

Not looking to hijack the thread with a crazy noob question, but Steve and nfbr both have a 3.0si Doesn't that have Xenon’s?
Why would you use a hid kit if you did?

Sorry if this is painfully obvious! :(

was a optional extra i believe.

mine has bmw fitted ones, but loads of cars i went to see about buying had standards
