Recommended garage Leeds?

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good independent garage in the Leeds area? First time BMW owner, and trying to stay away from the stealers unless a stamp is required...

More specifically, does anybody know of a garage that can do CDV mod for me?

I have only had one experience of an indie in Leeds and that was B & M Care (Pudsey) http://www.bmservicing.com/ my bonnet was sticking closed and would only open with a second person applying a bit of pressure on the bonnet latch as the lever was pulled.

They looked at it straight away, put some WD-40 on it (which I had tried but had no joy with) and then they 'worked' the catch until it worked without any problems. They wouldn't accept any money off me for doing it.

You might say they'd have been criminal to take something from me for that, but when you consider BMW wanted £80 to even look at the car, I was thrilled B & M did that for me without making faults up or charging me to look at it etc.

I would go back there but I must say I have no other experience of them

I've been to B & M for my radio to be fitted (under warranty) when it broke... they seemed pretty good.

Only downside was access was a nightmare, it's a very narrow road down to their garage. Concrete wall one side, cars the other... not nice at all imo.

Cheers guys.

I'm hoping for something more on the East side of Leeds, but will check this place out if I can't find one closer

Well, apart from BMW Wakefield for my main stamps/servicing (not sure I'll carry on using them, but might do), I use Selby TVR for my other jobs. Ie, MOT, any kind of work like bushes, rear discs, the more fiddly jobs that I would prefer done outside of BMW but still done right.

They also now specialise in Ferrari and Porsche, as well as TVR. They are £40 hr + vat iirc.

Really nice friendly people, take lots of time with you and the car, will get in parts from wherever you want them to get them etc... but they are outside of Leeds to the east, not just the east side.

So we have a few Leeds folk then - why am I the only one at any of the meets then :poke: :)

Back on topic - one of the main reasons we stick to BMW is because we get great service from Cramag, who are based on the Guiseley / Yeadon border. http://www.cramag.com/bmw-detail.html?row=13 they also buy and sell cars too - so something nice to look at too whilst you wait.

Feel free to drop in for a coffee if you're in the area
