Recommended drives around the Yorkshire Dales?

Off to stay at Hellifield Peel Castle near Skipton for a few days in a couple of weeks - any good drives around there not to be missed?

The whole length of road from Skipton > Settle > Kirby Lonsdale basically

But mainly when it is quiet, so evenings will be good if you are staying there! I worked in Carlisle for a bit many moons ago one summer, and drove back home at weekends, so Friday and Sunday evenings driving...

Well done on getting a room at Peel Castle by the way. It's booked solid for years... the wife and I wanted to go there but you have to plan a looong way ahead it seems

We had a bit of luck with the room - I think it was November when we went to book for about a year ahead and there was a cancellation available for about 6 months time, so that's just coming around now. Got the attic suite with the roof terrace no less, which bizarrely is the cheapest room! Will let you know how it is!

On that stretch of the A65 pay very close attention to a grey Golf GTI MkV with tinted rear windows.

Nothing to do with driving but I remember seeing the restoration of that castle on Grand Design's, it was an unbelievable achievment, hope you enjoy the roads and the castle, would love to stay there some day.

The girlfriend and I both really enjoy Grand Designs and that's how we found out about the castle, so will report back to anyone interested.
