Recommendations for replacement front shocks.

The front shocks on my '07 2.5si roadster are going.
Non-sport suspension.

Would really appreciate some advice on replacements. Should I replace all 4 or just the fronts?

Car has done just under 70,000 miles.

Please give recommendations of replacement brand and models. Happy to keep standard suspension set up or have it slightly lower/stiffer but without having to change springs etc.

Probs get more views if you put in E85 section.

You could get away with just doing the fronts but if you are on OE springs then swap them all out in one go as the tears will eventually snap. Changing the front shocks needs the springs off anyway.
If you want OE ride then go for Suplex and Bilstein B4 shocks. It's worth getting new top mounts at the same time, but to make the job quicker i got all new mounting parts for about £100 more so everything could be assembled off the car and popped straight on.

If you want lower then B12 is a good option, if you plan on tracking quite a bit or want the adjustability then coilovers.

Essentially you need to have a clear idea of what you want to achieve before starting, if you're planning on keeping a while then spend a bit more and replace most of the consumables.

So I would imagine that if I were to get the B12's, I would need to do all 4? If I did just the fronts I could get the B4's?
 
If you're lowering then get the B12 kit which includes uprated shocks and springs all round... probably about £850 for the parts give or take,
you can't lower a car without changing the springs!

If you're keeping it original then bilstein B4's, no reason why you need to do front and rear at the same time but if the fronts are going and the rears are the same age it might be worth doing both front and rear together!

and as already mentioned worth doing top mounts while you're there, parts don't cost much and gives you piece of mind that everything has been done at the same time!
 
I replaced mine with OEM Sachs replacements. Search Amazon by part number and got them each for £75. Bargain!
 
I've also bought a set of OEM Sachs shockers for my Coupe, having considered the Bilstein B4 option but in the end ECP were having one of their big sales and the Sachs worked out cheaper by about £50. IMO any new shock absorber is going to feel great compared with tired 10 year old ones so I don't have a pressing desire to deviate from the factory setup. I did buy new Suplex springs for the rear though, having seen the crusty state of the existing springs and read of numerous failures on the forum.

I was happy to keep my setup pretty much factory as i think my coupe is low enough and I managed to take advantage of a 20% ebay offer and got a set of Bilstein B4s, suplex springs and top mounts. That lot should freshen things up.

the seller was tdc automotive, they usually sell a set of bilstein b4's for £343, i managed to get £75 off with an offer that had 5 minutes to go.
 
One bit of advice I would give if buying a big branded name such as Sachs, Bilstein contact their UK distributor and get a list of approved resellers, there are fakes of some aftermarket parts and you may not be buying what you think you are.
