Recommendations for pressure washer and snow foam applicator

Have to say I'm really please I bought a rubber hose, the plastic ones aren't brilliant even in the summer, but the rubber one is so easy to use, even when the temperature is just above zero.

I have a Nilfisk C110 which is brilliant, also bought a rubber hose to go with it. I got mine from screwfix in a sale if I remember right, worth checking out.

-Tom-, did you try the Karcher one? I've just got a K2 with car kit for my birthday which is Saturday so looking forward to giving that a go.

I noticed they now do foam lances at Shell petrol stations manual car wash. I use this sometimes but take my own mit, more so when i cannot be arsed to get my cleaning gear out of the shed

I've got a jet washer but no snow foam attachment, is it worth an investment then??
Never heard of snow foam before I came on here, how's it work!

With this weather I still haven't had the chance! So annoying, kid with a new toy looking out of the window for it to stop raining for long enough depicts me in my house at the moment. Haha. Providing it doesn't rain one evening this week or Friday I'll give it a go and report back. I'm not expecting it to be as good as the foam lance I mentioned I bought for my dad and tried, but I'm interested too in how much it foams up!

What karcher foam lance do you have? I noticed they do 2. The standard small one that comes with the K2 as part of the car kit and also a 0.6l adjustable one which I understand is a lot better than the small standard one.

I have both karcher ones - the small car kit one is only a quick fix and doesn't do much clingy foam

the larger one from detailing world (and others) is much better and definitely the one I would recommend.

Mark the snow foam lance from Karcher that is included within the car kit with my K2 is this one:

Even smaller than the adjustable one. Got a feeling it's going to be useless!!

The karcher one that was bought for me was the other version which doesn;t come with the kit. I still haven't tried it yet  But as mark mentioned the attachment which you can get through detailing world is better if you are buying one yourself, and I will probably get it for myself if the karcher isn't how I want it to be. The solution itself is one of the biggest things to make a difference too.

ah, yeah - I would expect that you will get some foaming off the really small one, but its more moistening the car with a soapy solution than actual snow foaming. (I've actually given the small karcher one to my father-in-law-to-be and he cleans his 3 series with it; he is well happy with it)

Right .... I managed to use the karcher today. The lance as mentioned has the larger bottle with adjustable flow. The foam I used was "OK", but it isn't what I'd have bought myself. Again both of these were a gift so not exactly a recommendation but more of a review. Again as a few of us have mentioned unless cost/convenience is a big factor I'd personally go for the kit which you can get through detailing world.

The karcher k4 was nice and powerful, albeit louder than the nilfisk. The karcher foam nozzle was actually OK, not massively different to the other lance as mentioned in the thread which I also have use of. The main let down with the karcher setup today I'd say was the foam solution itself. The lance gave good coverage after I used more solution than recommended but it only lingered for a few minutes, whereas I'd like it to linger for much longer.

And finally can see silver grey again with the grime gone! Love this colour in varying lights.

I had a Karcher attachment bought from Halfords and it was very disappointing. I gave it away to someone on here and replaced it with one from cleanyourcar and it is superb.

I used mine at the weekend for the first time and the standard (small) karcher one does not really produce foam of any kind. You get some soap suds but not a lot. I will soon be purchasing the autobrite lance and magifoam so that I can get the results I'm looking for.

I've got a really wimpy Karcher (1010 or something, its tiny) and a foam lance from CYC that I've been using for several years. I do get foam, but not really thick, and then when I spray it off after about 5(ish) mins, it leaves the traffic film on...although it has softened it, cos a light finger wipe and it comes off, with no pressure.

Having had my car detailed a few times, my detailers set up (petrol powered jet wash) is much better - it gets rid of the traffic film also.

So, I've been looking at a new set-up. Was always set on Karcher, and was looking at the K4 series, but read this thread and saw Nilfisk recommended, and I've read that before, so looked into them. For about £50 more than the Karcher, I got the P150, which is meant to be really powerful. Cheaper on Amazon than Screwfix:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nilfisk-P150-2-10-X-TRA-Pressure/dp/B004OTOIYM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389732063&sr=8-1&keywords=nilfisk+p150

And I've just dropped over £60 at CYC for some stuff...including a new foam lance as the one I have is for Karcher!

So I've spent a shed load on this. If it gives the results I want then it will be worth it! Hopefully try it at the weekend, but will have to be careful I don't take the paint off!

Kränzle 1152T + elite car care foam lance. I have this kind of package, and i can make really thick snow foam. Kränzle washer is so strong that it basically lasts tens of years..

^looks at least 5-6 times more expensive than most Kärcher&nilfisk models mentioned here.
But it sure looks like a real quality unit.

As for pressure washers goes I can only recommend one thing: get one with a rubber hose.
Most cheap ones have a plastic hose that is really stiff (especially when it's cold). A rubber hose is so much nicer to use. Sometimes you can buy them seperately.
