Recommendations for LSD fitting?

Hi,

Anyone have any recommendations for a company to supply and fit an LSD to a pre-facelift E85 3.0i?

Finding a diff isn’t an issue, but I hear that fitting them can be a ball ache.

Anyone had this done, and who did they use?

I did a search, but lots of posts about diff oil instead 😁

Thanks :)

I’ve been toying with the idea of trying these one day. It’s certainly no quaife but could be cheap fun.

Lovely bit of kit, very competent guys, but very expensive…I’ve had two on both my E89s

You have a 20i right? What was the impact of the LSD? Decent improvement?

I had an E89 20i MSport that latterly was 305 BHP / 450 nm…now with an E89 35is at 550 BHP / 759nm..

The impact of the Quaife is negative !

Things just don’t happen…

You go round corners, you accelerate when and where you want, you drag the brakes, you change your mind..you move from power off to power on…

It’s just all very smooth and competent…no fuss, no drama, no traction control lights flashing

I’ve done about 25,000 miles on both LSDs..a lot of high speed hooning, very bouncy roads, poor traction etc etc..

As others will testify the cars just get up and go ..no drama ..others are perplexed..

The only two events that overcame it was a maximum launch on the 20i where I got a DSC error ..caused by over large dissimilar front and rear rolling radius..of tyres..and trying to launch 550 BHP with traction control off with no finesse.. did a 270 degree turn..

Works well with the onboard Nannie’s..great in 5” snow ..

On the 35is overtaking in the wet at 70 the wheels gently spin but it never intervenes in your enjoyment ..

Pity it’s a £2k option…
