I got a HTC ONE to play with it, and the hardware is far superior to my iphone.

However just got the latest beta ios 7.0 from work to play with our developer apps... And have to say ios7.0 is leaps and bounds ahead of ios6.0. Lots of andriod features with the added apple bling... So i def am looking forward to using my iphone 5 again!!

Sounds interesting, I just find user experience on the HTC nicer, slightly larger screen, stereo speakers etc over the iPhone.

Tim.

Ios7.0 on the htc one would be my dream combo!

Just love the clarity and size of the screen!

What and when is 7.0 released aquazi? The problem I'm having is software hangs, web pages hang, the phone drops a lot of calls and 3G, it gets really hot sometimes and occasionally the camera decides to add vertical bands of electronic feedback to pictures. Bought it last October and feels like I bought a lemon.

Ive been using HTC androids for a couple of years now and love them. Have a One now which replaced a One X.

Not had any issues with bugs or hanging and the keyboard with swype or similar is much better than iphone IMO.

I quite fancy a HTC One. Rather stupidly bought a Samsung Mega.....it's huge at 6.3 inches....and I leave it at home instead of taking it everywhere!!!! I am going to sell it and go back to using my very old but gorgeous Carbon Arte by Nokia, and just carry my ipad around...

Apple need a total redesign of its iPhone to get me to come back to it....

I'm hanging around with my iPhone 4 now on a sim only extension to my original contract coz I can't make my mind up which way to jump!

This is my third iPhone and only recently have been doubting the apple mantra - most recent worrying problems after OS upgrades have been constant dropping of the wifi connection as soon as it gets down to two bars and the refusal of the phone to re-establish the ability to send texts or make calls when I've been in a poor signal area and then am in a good one - sometimes having to switch the phone off/on again which is a bad experience.

Added to this if apple have changed the interface in the 5 then there is no way I'm allowing them to dictate a change to all of my peripheral equipment just coz they wanted to change - I have too much of this stuff and it cost a fortune

So understand why the OP is seeking views - it may be a sea change moment for apple diehards ??

I think camera problems are quite common, my friend had issues with his and just swapped it for a new one at an apple store with no fuss... I did the same when I had a dodgy home button on the 4. Could be you have a dodgy one?

Also what network are you on? I have not had an issue with dropping calls on mine...

I've just gone from a iPhone 4 to the 5, we have 4g in Southampton and its bloody quick but I do agree you do get locked into the brand. I find iPhones easy to use so stuck with apple.

I personally really like my iPhone 4. I've had it for over 2 years and it is very well built, very easy to use and I like the size of it. I haven't been tempted by the iPhone 5 because I don't like the larger screen nor do I like the materials used. It looks and feels cheap in comparison to the 4/4s.

However.....I think the current iOS is the problem. Some of my apps are proving troublesome now. Facebook for iPhone for example, is terrible at the moment. It is so slow. It's not just my older phone that is to blame either. Friends with 4s and 5's are experiencing similar. I also get issues when occasionally after losing signal it doesn't restore 3G even when it is available and I have to turn the phone off and on again. Battery life is rubbish but I think that is true of all the current generation of smartphones.

I'm holding fire on a new phone. Lets see what the 5s or 6 (or whatever it will be called) and iOS 7 is like. I hope to see a much more robust and quality feel to the phone's exterior and smooth running apps with the usual intuitive Apple functionality.

I'll try. Am currently of the mind that this is my chance to escape the clutches of Cupertino though, so may seek exchange then sell, then get an Android.

I chose the Sony Experia Z , android, software seems ok but the phones a tad on the large side, good for sat nav though

Loving the samsung s3 under £300 new unlocked on amazon now.
But my nokia classic is still a better phone over all for battery life, responsiveness and most importantly reception over any smart phone.

I believe september. Some really nice features like the lock screen info, bee gui such as icons shift as you tilt- pointless but apple cool!!

Also animated backgrounds... Which andriod have had for years!!

For your i would personally restore it with the bugs you have, if that doesnt fix it take it to the genius store, if its a 5 they will replace it with one from the shelf!

Just watched the OS7 keynote. Looks impressive. I'll try a restore then Genius Bar and see how I get on first. Thanks for the advice.

After nearly throwing the thing out of the window due to wifi drops, overheating issues and the camera having a mind of it's own or adding feedback to pictures, took it into Regent Street store today and my phone that was 10 months old was immediately replaced with a brand new unit. With iOS7 released in a few weeks time it will hopefully restore my faith in this phone a little.

See how long it lasts.

They should have given you another 90days warranty too I think...?

If it's inside the original manufacturer warranty, as this one was, shouldn't it be another 12 months warranty and a brand new phone? I thought the 90-day warranty only applied to the out-of-warranty "reconditioned" phones that they sell you for £149 or whatever it is now?
