recommend me a louder exhaust

hey guys, loving my new car... but a little disappointed with the quiet sound... i'm craving more straight 6 rumble and roar...
as ever budget is a concern... but would part with £500 or so...
any suggestions welcome... would need it fitting obviously... and i live near leeds...


audio clips would be appreciated and of course pics if you have a system already

I think you'll find BMW are pretty fair with their warranty and just refuse to cover the swapped parts, I've not heard of them rejecting the whole car warranty, I'm sure the more heavily modded z4 owners can confirm but I've never had any issues. Unlike Porsche who refused to cover an £80k panamera under warranty if my friend got the brake calipers painted!
 
Hi - I have my 35i booked into AAS exhausts in Newcastle in August to get custom cat back system installed. will let you know how it goes - can't wait because the OEM lets the car down IMHO

what you planning on noise wise etc ?
looking fwd to hearing back so i can think about getting mine done too in leeds..

I got the custom system fitted in Newcastle as planned, but the results were mixed. The new system looks great, fitted perfectly, and has a much deeper note than the original, with beautifully made silencers and slash cut tail pipes - per the OEM but bigger. :) However, it was too loud for my other half, and so after much deliberation, I have removed it and refitted the OEM system. This is no reflection on the construction quality of the new system, which is actually much better then the OEM - but she who must be obeyed has spoken :cry:

If anyone is interested in giving a custom system a try, then I would be prepared to sell it on for a very reasonable price, as it cost me £600, and is just gathering dust at the moment.
 
oh no... thats terrible news.....
i was quotes about £350 when i asked in leeds.... what did you have done for £600 ?
 
I had a full cat back system built by AAS exhausts in Newcastle. They build everything from scratch, and it took 3 guys a full day to complete. This was the first they had done, and turned out to be much more time consuming than they thought initially due to the complexity of the routing etc. The guy who owns the place said he would have to charge more in future, and reckoned I got a bargain. The silencers are all custom made as well, unlike a lot of places. I have to say, the fit was perfect and the welding is as good as I have seen anywhere.
 
I have a Eisenmann Sport exhaust for sale to fit 3.5i, only done about 450 miles. New these cost £1924, Only £1000!

I have a 35i in black and was looking at changing the exhaust system, any chance you can some kind of audio of the the exhaust you are selling?

I'd not considered exhausts as the stock one seems adequate for me, what does the Eisenmann offer and why are you no longer running it if you don't mind me asking?

Hi - no I'm sorry to say that I have no sound clips, but I could certainly take some photos if that would be any use.

Selling due to her indoors not liking the extra sound, says it is too loud, thought it sounded lovely... :(
