Recommend me a Cover

As I have no garage (well, the garage is full) the Z will be kept outside. It probably won't get used every day and the trees around my flat seem to secrete some sort of resin that is horrible looking in the autumn and winter and bullet proof in the spring and summer.

So a cover is in order.

Any recommendations?

+1 on storm force, bought new and worth every penny come rain or shine.
Even use the alarm and security tether too when I go away

I had a cover made up for my zeds roof worked well except in strong winds. If you need more details on company feel free to pm me Andy. Am certain I still have the cover somewhere :?
 
Hi, I've been lurking on the forum for a while and can at last add something :D My cars a Sterling Grey, 2005 2.5, standard for now, had it since March.

I've just bought a Cabrioshield roof cover from Fleabay this week. £89 plus delivery, came in 2 days. They do 3 colours and the material does feel pretty good.
BMW Z4 Car Hood Soft Top Cover Half Cover Protection, sold by prestigeautotrim. Its a lightweight woven nylon type material.

I had been looking and there are plenty out there similar for about £50. What won it for me was no straps to rub against the body, there are protrusions that fit into the door gaps and boot and a magnetic surround to stop it flapping all the way round. I bought it to keep the crap off at work when its outside, especially the frost.

I think the material will wipe clean, since you mention tree sap. I only got it yesterday and have had a quick trial fit, seems fine. If I get a chance and work out how to do a pick Ill post it.

The tress sap is really viscious in spring/summer! My gf's hire car was covered in it after 2 days, so much so that the windows refused to open! It also seems to attract wasps.
 
I'm semi-tempted by a winter cover.

As OP my car won't be garaged, but i'm wondering whether the cover will do more harm than good. In strong winds as it moves around over the paintwork, wouldn't it cause lots of minor scratches?
 
If you buy a quality cover they are fleece lined I have used a full cover on my old volkswagen for years with no issues.
