Just looking for somewhere for future use for my inspection 1/2 and for whatever else might pop up.

I've found two that seem to have good reviews

http://www.mbmautohaus.co.uk

and

http://www.jodarbycars.co.uk/

Not used as yet but have been to see them and they certainly know their BMs, others have spoken very highly

Whilst changing the turbo on my 525d, Autokraft managed to ruin the steering geometry and overfill the engine oil by over a litre. They did realign the steering after 3 attempts though. I will take Z4M elsewhere.
Just my 2p.

So has no one used MBMautohaus then?

They're the most local to me so are my preference. I could just do with some feedback from previous customers.

have you tried looking on-line for a dealer price? I've seen some good prices out there.

Looks like they are after our patronage :driving:

Not quite Birmingham but i can highly recommend Autobahn servicing in Halesowen. Just took my Z4 there for a check over after buying it. Rob is really knowledgable, the workshop is immaculate and there are 2 motorsport M3's currently being built in the workshop. My Z4 will be going back there for a service very soon.

I have used both Autokraft (NCB) and Jo Darby.

Up until recently I would not have hesitated to point you in the direction of Autokraft (and have done so on this forum) as they are close to me and historically proved reliable. However after directing an in-law that way, Autokraft failed to diagnose a relatively straight forward issue around the cooling on a 320d, replaced a couple of unnecessary parts and if we are been honest did not put the car back together quite right also.

It also felt they were been a little OTT around a noisy timing chain which yes are a known issue on the 320d and can be a little pricey to remedy but they made it out to be world ending which felt a little uncomfortable.

The last time my M was there it took them 2 goes to get the fix bob on and gave them the benefit of the doubt given some strong work previously but I guess things change, employees come and go and standards can slip.

Noel is a really nice guy to deal with but I have a nagging doubt in hindsight that is masking the odd hiccup

Jo Darby - used once and was happy with the work (not on the M though) but have already decided the next service work/repair on either of the BM fleet will be going to Jo Darby if that helps.

I've got a couple of their receipts in my car's history file :)

Just had a look on their website, their facilities and customer cars look quite good.
I might pay them a visit as they're pretty local and I was travelling over to Autotech in Telford previously.

So in summary about MBM Autohaus....I'm undecided after my experience.

1. They are very local to my new house.
2. MOT passed with no advisories.

However, they were unable to even find the source of the shake through the steering under braking which is either worn bushes or wheel alignment/tracking. And although they have confirmed that my car has 20mm spacers fitted (news to me) and chased around for hours trying to find a 70mm bolt to replace the missing one, they didn't find one.

Therefore I wasn't filled with confidence.
