Recommend a scissor jack

Look at the Halfords site - half price in their sale;
http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_254057_langId_-1_categoryId_165727
.....and at least if you have a problem there's a local Halfords nearby.

The profile on that is 15cm, which is too high. The link I posted above is 8cm.

Has anyone heard of and/or had any experience with Liftmaster?

Peddy, the floor jack you show looks very similar to one I was eying up in my buddies garage two days ago. Ours is red and comes from Canadian Tire but looks damn near the same. He had nothing but praise for it . He uses it on cars and it can pick up his Chev truck,,... and it will fit under a Zed. I'll get one as soon as I find one. :D

As for scissor jacks, why not swipe one out of an E46 , check the lifting points first to see if they match. My 325Ci jack is a perfect fit for the new Zed. :)

ok cool thanks - this was the closest looking one i could find on their site. Was it this one?

That jack looks too cheap to be true! Let us know how you get on if you get it.

I checked the link and that's the one I was looking at. It needs to go on sale first but it is really small and light AND it will lift a 3/4 ton Chev truck so lifting a corner of a Zed should be childs play.

I just checked the specs on it and this one in the link is dual (hydraulic and air operated, very cool if you have a compressor) the one my buddy has is just hydraulic but basically the same. I'm going to look for the single one first but as I have a little compressor we'll see what turns up first.

Check this one , I think it's the basic jack for $99 , there's also another one with stands . They look cheap but I'm not a commercial garage so WTF....

I should explain... my buddy has a massive floor jack, a couple of bottle jacks , a 20 ton air/hydraulic bottle jack and this little guy is the one in the middle of his shop that he uses all the time...he's a carpenter, I don't know why he has so many jacks ???? :? :

I guess I'll be making a trip to Crappy Tire this weekend...

Went to Crappy tire, most of the jacks shown are 5 3/8 to 5 7/8 min clearance and my Zed measures 5 5/8 clearance without any padding or protection
but this one http://www.canadiantire.ca/AST/browse/4/Auto/AutoTools/CreepersJacksStands/PRDOVR~0090021P/Motomaster%252BAluminium%252BJack.jsp

is 3 7/8 and has padding. Hmmm, aluminium, pretty, ...must buy....$200 A clear winner although twice the price of the runner up.

They also have a scissor jack that will work for 25 or 29 dollars(I can't remember which) but it will probably go in the trunk when I switch to normal tires.

Update: checked all the jacks at Crappy Tire, the only one that fits under the Zed is the Aluminium racing jack, bought it, took it home and jacked up the car in a flash. A Nice piece of equipment. Price was a bit high but you get what you pay for. ($200 CDN) I figure if a car costs $75 grand it might be worth using a decent jack to pick it up and my health (if a cheap jack fails and the car falls on me ) is worth a lot more .

The scissor jack for $29.99 looks more than adequate for stashing in the trunk for emergencies..

Just a heads up for members in the UK, Lidl have a trolley jack and axel stands in from 25th Feb. Can't see the jack fitting under the Zed but could be useful for other cars or when used with a wooden block.

daveg - yep that look like the standard cheapo hydraulic jack that does not fit under the Zed*. Excellent value and I have one that I use time to time more as an extra to lift bits once jacked up. I'd have one of these and a pair of stands for £22 all in over a scissor jack any day

*They can be made to work on the Zed easily by driving onto a 1" plank of wood.

Yes I have that date bookmarked and will be going to check the Jack out, I wonder if it will go under an e89

I bought a Halfords 1.5 ton scissor jack 2 weeks ago £15.00 ( I think) and it's rubbish :headbang: so I'm taking it back for a re-fund.
