If it was, then there would be some documentation of this, and the follow-up action to get it back on the road.
The fact that there's no documentation to evidence the cat D status means you may never know what was the reason for the cat D, nor what was carried out, or to what standard.
What else has been replaced with the wrong parts - it may not just be the bonnet :thumbsdown:
And I don't buy the 'excuse' for selling, that it's not suitable for lots of motorway miles :thumbsdown:
