So here's the pictures of my new Z4 following its detail - there were some swirl marks from the dealer, so these were also removed.

Before you comment - sun was setting, so not brilliant pictures and my stubby was fitted this morning, cos I couldn't get it off yesterday!

Hope you like!!!

Not sure what you mean?

oh.. our two are white, the house opposite is his work car/van and the transit is also a work van.

Our two are the cleanest :D

Looks very very good, I'm very jealous....mine needs a pro detail like you would not believe!!

Yeah, the detail really brings it up perfect, but my argument is that it should leave the dealer PERFECT...but we all know that doesn't happen!

HR Owen in Acton, service BMW/Mini but also Bugatti, Lambo, Rolls and Bentley .... I said to the service guy there, how upset I was that they had washed my car when I had told them not to, and he said if its good for a Bugatti, why isn't it good for you....at this point I showed him their guy using a plastic blade taking off the excess water and then using a leather......are we just too picky? I don't think so....

NO!!!!! We are not too picky! I suspect most of their customers don't really care (I never used too...I used to take my cars through a car-wash!!!) but once you realise about swirls etc, then you can't ignore it, and to have someone "damage" the paintwork in this way is annoying. Thanks for the free wash, but unless you do it properly, I'd rather not!

I know my dealer uses a power washer, but thats all I've seen of how they do it. I know they inflict damage!!!

I'm taking the car into the dealer later to show him the results cos he's quite interested.

Gorgeous set of photo's - will be good to see some with a bit more light / sun. Also go me thinking whether to debadge mine.....

Thanks. Yeah, the light was fading and with the right skills someone could've made more of the sunlight effect, but those were taken on a point and shoot. I have a nice place to go to get pictures, but it was getting too dark to be worth it, will have to get some more when I can.

I dont mind the Z4 badge on the back, but dont like the model badge on the sides, so selected debadge. I think it looks cleaner.

Really nice! The white, and the detail, make it look so clean!

Its not gonna stay clean for long..forcast is rain tomorrow and I gotta drive some country roads, so it will be filthy!

Gorgeous! Looks great in those pics. 8)

Dealer will be under strict instructions not to wash mine before collection - whether or not they remember remains to be seen! To be fair, my last car was white and the garage managed to keep it swirl free for collection and it looked good in the showroom without them 'washing' it, so I'm hoping for the same with the Z4.

Thanks.

Took it into the dealer today cos he wanted to see the results of the detail....he said he didn't think he would really tell the difference, but as soon as he saw it he could tell. He was very impressed!

I'm going to do an A4 laminate to leave on the dashboard when it goes into the dealer saying "please do not wash", cos I've requested no wash before (and they mark the job sheet to say no wash) and its still been washed. Still, now the dealer has seen it, if they do swirl it, I can show him the damage (he'll still deny it obviously, but I will make a point!).

Just been out to take more photo's and try hill starts. Hill starts ok, but again, sun dropping low so pictures not good, so I'm not going to post them, apart from the ones showing the stubby arial!!!

Hi Kevin

She looks gorgeous, and I think the stubby is the same as the one I have on order...

I will be picking my car up next week, I didn't realise the dealer could make such a mess of the paintwork by washing it, I don't think I have any chance of mine avoiding a wash even if requested. How do I find a detailer? Do you mind me asking what sort of cost it is to have the car detailed?

Cheers...Kevin.
