Reccomendations on a bodyshop / respray shop for diffuser

Hello all,

I've just marked out and had my rear diffuser cut to accomodate 4 pipes. Does anybody know a place in and around London who can respray it to Metallic Black? it's currently OEM grey with a couple of scracthes here and there (ebay buy for £15). Is there anything I can do to the diffuser pre prep to make the job cheaper?

How much do people think it would cost?

Thanks

Can't advise on a London spray shop, but any body repair company can do it. Expect £200 but you might pay a bit less.

Don't attempt any prep yourself as the shops will be less likely to touch it. Issue is whatever you do they will either do it again such as sanding or if you prime it they will remove it as they cannot trust what was used.

Thanks, i'll keep that in mind. I've emailed 16 bodyshops around me so I will post up the range of quotes I get for other peoples reference.

Kent Custom Dipping quoted £110 for a respray, and a local body shop in Enfield quoted £130. Will see what I get back.

I would leave it to the body shop to prep  I wouldn't think it would be anymore than £100/150 at most. It's only a small part & they mix the paint in house now.

Emailed 16 bodyshops - wow... Not trying to be funny, but I'm not sure what the responses will tell you aside a few won't reply to an email and you'll get a range of prices which will tell you nothing about the quality of the work.

Surely you'd be better to contact just a 2 or 3 for a price by phone, gauge their willingness, timelines, etc. and then go take a look at the sort of work they do, quality and leave it with one of them? If they are no good look wider.

Well to be honest it only took 5 minutes to do, simple copy and paste and google of body shops within a 10 mile vicinity. I've already had a garage quote £230, double what others are on average asking. Knowledge is power and if I can use quotes to my advantage on a reasonable bodyshop then why not.

It was a Sunday evening and nobody was open - otherwise I would call. Best that could be done given the circumstances (and me being impatient).

Quick Update

Auto Enhance / MStyle in Romford offering far and away the best price with what appears to be the best quality work. 6 Year guarantee, a couple of coats of plastic primer, several coats of 2k primer and 3 coats of color matched metallic black for £95 all in.

Most quotes have been in the £100-120 range with a few con artists wanting £180 and even £220 for the job. Absolute cowboys.

You might want to Google them before you commit.
There's a lot of complaints about them out there.

Can't argue that the price quotes is cheap though
