Recce'd the NE route for Feb 1st

Steph and I took a recce around the route for our first NE run on Feb 1st.

Some ice on part of the route over the Pennines to Middleton but the rest of the route was ok. The good news is that the superb road from Middleton in Teasdale to Alston has been resurfaced - excellent.

Still, it's early in the year and we will have to watch the forecasts carefully before making a final decision regarding the higher sections. Brilliant scenery up there though. . .

I do know that the left went into a right where a tractor with a massive spike sticking out the back was crossing the road. . . .

Yep - some excellent roads - just need a clear spell of weather. . . we shall see.

The left turn takes you to the Cow Green reservoir car park - nice views and plenty of parking. A decent place to park up for those with flasks of coffee!
