Recaro seats - which ones

Hi folks, I'm going to replace my hideous M sport seats, any advice on which type of recaro I should go for, preferably with the option for heating?

If money no object, then you can get the Sportster CS seats (that same as BMW Performance seats in 1M) which are available (at extra cost) with side airbags & seat heating.

Personally I'm after either Pole Position ABE (two-tone black leather, champagne alcantara)...

...or Tillet B5 (same as the ex-Tertius car)...

Does the seat heating work okay with the current wiring or do you need to mess about taking connectors off and soldering wires together?

Sorry, can't help with that as I've not done it yet.

Tertius has had a few sets of seats in his, so maybe he can help.

Chris, are your msport seats out of a preface? Would you be looking to sell them and if so what condition and how much?

Yes I'll be looking to sell at least the drivers side one, I've just bought an 07 Z4, 32,000 on the clock, as you can imagine the seats are in mint condition. Depending on how much the new one is I might sell both.

This absolutely isn't going to help my bank balance.... can anyone advise how comfortable the Pole Positions are for daily purposes?

Apologies in advance to the OP for the slight hijack!

Isn't it the Pole Position ABE that Porsche have in some of their models?

Anyway, the only time I've spent a full day in them was during a ride to the Nurburgring (my friend has cloth ones), and that's when I decided I had to have them, as they were great for the 5 hours down to Dover, and 5 hours to the 'Ring, and 2 hours we spent on the Ring once we got there.

I also then found my perfect colour combo (black leather w. champagne dynamica suede), and then tried to order them to find out they'd stopped making that colour combo and it was now an extra £300 per seat to make it, so I put them on the back-burner and they're still there now!

My bank balance doesn't like you  I've been wanting a set for ages but was slightly put off by the chance of significantly reduced comfort.... Now the only block is my willpower haha! Cheers mmm :)

I drove to Italy in a day with pole positions and aside from being shattered, i really didn't find the seats an issue. I find they lack a little lumbar support for me but that's something I only sometimes notice on much longer trips and is easily remedied with a small bit of padding at the base of my back. That said, I'm a bit peculiar with seats and comfort so they might be perfect for you.

As for the height, I've read that the harness holes are quite low on the PP but if you're not going to use them you might find they fit well. Well worth trying a few seats out if possible as we're all different.

I have OEM Recaro Buckets in my TT RS and love them, much better than the seats in my Z4M much more support. I guess they are simular to the CS seats. But they are a certain size and not everone fits in them as well as I do.

My brother used to have the pole positions in his Audi TT Quattro Sport, as mentioned above very comfortable seat my only isse was getting in and out could be difficult especially if you cant open the door fully, in a carpark for example
