recaro buckets in a Z4

anyone done/tried this? the new car isn't even on the drive yet (i pick it up next week) & i'm planning things already :D

basically the car i've bought appears to be the only Z4M coupe without heated seats in the UK. not that i'm all that bothered (but swmbo is most disapointed!) & i'm kind of thinking well, if it had of had heated seats i wouyld have used them but seeing as it hasn't i might put some buckets in :)

i've found somewhere on t'interweb that supplies imola red leather, i can get a couple of recaro furious bucket seats fairly reasonably so why not?

are the Z4 seats & runners the same as e46 m3's? can i just use those sliders?
answers on a postcard....

phwoar!!

hi would hav thought that lots of Z4MC have heated seats?

i would try the standard seats first, i find they are very comforatble

Mine doesn't have heated seats either  but wasn't a deal breaker for me. I love the OEM seats, very supportive snug and extremely comfortable.

Think you will need a spine transplant if you put buckets in it on UK roads. The OEM seats are a good compromise.

Heated seats are a must for the roadster not a must have in the coupe but hard to believe you'd spec up a £40k + car without them.

aye, it's a shame they aren't there but the car is mint & the deal was good so it wasn't going to put me off. as for the recaro's, i just prefer sitting in them (especially on track)

yeah it's more the recaro fixed back buckets i was thinking of, & whether the e46 mounts would work or if the Z4 seats & sliders are different?

what code is the Z4 coupe by the way eXX??

Essential in a coupe for me today. Windows down for maximum quad noise building rebound, heaters turned to 75% and seats on heat position 2.

Err right well we seem to have deviated from the topic somewhat?!

So I'm guessing no-ones done the swap? Well I'll do a thread if I end up doing it.

The main question is more to do with the mounts, I mean I'm guessing they're the same as an e46 M3??
